The first blog post for 2024 is here.
Wow, we are ready to take you on another journey into the world of surfing. After our introduction to surfboards, we now want to focus on the practical aspects.
How can you best protect your surfboard?
As we mentioned earlier, surfboards are made of sensitive materials, making them prone to damage or scratches. It is important to be prepared for repairs and to protect your board in the best possible way.
We want to give you a description of how to protect your surfboard, but if you want more information on surfboard repairs and details on protection, we recommend joining
Damages, such as scratches or dents, can easily occur on a surfboard. Since You don't want to get water into the board's inner core,
it is important to quickly repair the damages before using the board again. How do you do that? Of course, it all depends on the size of the damages.
For smaller damages, you can easily learn to repair them yourself using repair kits suitable for the board's material.
A quick way to take care of smaller damages is with a solar repair kit that dries quickly in the sun. Always a good thing to have with you if you're traveling with your own board. They are available for different materials.
In our WAHINES surf community, we are here to guide you and show you how to do it. By joining us, you can gain valuable knowledge and benefit from it.
For larger damages, we always recommend seeking professional help. They have the right materials and tools to fix these damages.
Damages to the surfboard can occur in different situations, but one of the most common is during transport to and from the destination or the beach. Therefore, it is important to be careful and properly protect your surfboard during these times, especially at the beach where we want to keep the surfboard intact to prevent water from entering.
To protect your surfboard in the best way, we recommend using either thinner covers, also known as "socks," or a board bag.
The difference between these two is that a board bag is a thicker and padded bag specifically designed to protect the surfboard during air travel. A board bag is available in different sizes and variants. Our tip is to choose a size larger so that you can fit towels and extra protective materials without any problems.
For everyday trips and beach visits, we recommend a lighter cover bag or "socks." Socks are thinner and easier to put on, protecting both the car and the board from damages during your daily trips. It is also good to use socks to keep the wax away from other boards when stacking them on the roof.
A perfect opportunity to introduce our "The W" surfboard cover! We believe it is the most stylish cover on the market. They are durable, functional, and stylish.
This practical cover is designed to keep your surfboard protected from sand, damages, and scratches. It works perfectly as an extra protection when traveling with your board bag. You can also use it to safely store your surfboard in the storage or elsewhere
when not in use.
We have chosen to make this bag durable, functional, and stylish using leftover fabrics. It is available in different sizes. We have added that extra touch because it is used more
than other covers.
It is equally important to protect the fin on your surfboard as it is to protect the board itself. The fin is often made of fragile material, and by protecting it when we are not surfing, we can extend its lifespan. Our "The W" Single Fin is perfect for this purpose and is available in three different sizes. If you are interested in a different size, do not hesitate to contact us, we will help you resolve it.
